Hebrew Alphabet - The Letter Daleth

Hello Everyone!

This Wednesday March 5th we continue our class series on
the Hebrew aleph-beth or alphabet. The modern Hebrew alphabet
is descended from symbols older than the Tarot or even the Sepher
Yetzirah, the ancient Book of Formation. These symbols were given
spiritual significance from the earliest days of their existence. Today
they are considered to be symbols of living energies and of
consciousness. The western mysteries (Hermetic Qabalah) has
assigned each letter a number of additional correspondences.

This Wednesday we take a look at the letter Daleth. This is the 4th of
the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Daleth translates to ‘door’ in
English. A door functions as an entry or exit from one space to
another. This description fits Daleth perfectly.  On the Tree of Life
one must cross the Path of Gimel to move from the qabalistic world

of Creation to the world of Emanation. Daleth also serves as a
transition from the first 3 letters of the Hebrew alphabet to the
other letters. We will see that Daleth can be considered a door in
several other important ways.

We plan to look at one letter  in each class, on the 1st and 3rd
Wednesdays of each month.
