FW: River Keepers Community Day - Volunteers for Saturday

Everyone...

I'm passing along a request for volunteers for this Saturday for a 4-hour Red River cleanup project. I can't make it, but it came to me through River Keepers, a group that I regularly do volunteer work for. If anyone is willing to help out, you can call the number below for more information. You can also pass on the request to other friends if you wish.

Thanks!

That is perfectly fine to pass on my email address, in fact that would be awesome.  If needed, my cell phone humber is (781)-350-0708.  It is unfortunate that you're unable to participate, but I'm sure that we'll find some people for Saturday.  Thanks for your quick response!

Unfortunately, I already have plans that conflict. However, I can pass the word to friends. Can I use your email address as the best way for people to contact you?

Dear Mr. Magee:

Hello.  My name is Matt Baker ), and I am currently serving in the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC).  We are currently working in the Fargo/Moorhead area, one of our projects is with the organization River Keepers in beautifying the parks along the Red River.  The reason I am contacting you is that we are organizing a day for volunteer outreach with River Keepers on Saturday, October 23 in Moorhead, and we are seeking participants.  We thought that your organization would be a perfect place to reach out to.  We are trying to get some people out for a few hours to learn about the Red River and help out by cleaning up a vital part of the Moorhead/Fargo community.  The volunteers would be clearing brush from the riverside in order to improve the sight-lines of the river.  The hours are from 11-3 on October 23. We will also be trying to generate some media coverage as we think this is a great opportunity to raise awareness of the Red River and environmental issues as a whole.  Please let me know if you (or your organization) would be interested in taking part. Thank you very much for you consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.
