Subject: [atheists-680] Do something for May 21, the end of the world‏

I'm sending this to the Red River Freethinkers and the Atheist meetup group,
so some of you will get this twice.

With the increased attention being given to the May 21, 2011 Second Comming
prediction, maybe we should do something on that day. I'm not thinking of
anything major, just a gathering of some sort and invite the public (maybe).
It's a Saturday, so maybe simple picnic at a park, possibly one of the ones
with Frisbee golf and big enough to fly kites. (Some folks in the meetup
group have mentioned kites recently.) If there was an idea for something
more formal, that would be okay, too. Maybe hire cheap entertainment--an
acoustic band or something.

We could send a press release to the media, a playful release--nothing mean,
pointing out what was going on. Maybe there would be some press coverage.

What do you all think?
