FREE Riders Foundation was founded to help fellow addicts and alcoholics maintain sobriety by introducing mountain biking into their lives. This is a ride group with a purpose and all rider levels are welcome. FREE Riders Foundation sponsors monthly mountain bike group rides and can provide bikes and helmets for those in need. FRF wants to get those suffering off the couch, out of the bars and on a bike by emphasizing the benefits mountain biking and exercise can bring towards fighting addiction. Increased internal and external strength, building self-esteem, achieving goals, learning to have fun without the need of chemicals and most importantly.......making NEW friends; are a few positive aspects mountain biking has brought to my life. I hope others find the same benefits.
FREE Riders Foundation has begun the 501 c 3 filing process to become a charitable organization. Through monetary and equipment donations FRF will donate bikes to those in recovery needing transportation to maintain jobs and other required obligations. With your help we can help those willing to make changes in their lifestyle both physically and spiritually.
Members are encouraged to use the discussion board at meetup.com/Free-riders-foundation to communicate with each other. If you are looking for a ride partner, post a message and others will join you. This is a great way to keep active and meet others with similar urges. I hope members use this site as a tool for sobriety.
We are all on this Ride together! Thank you for your support,
