NYC Yappy Hour will schedule meetups that aim to please 25lb-and-under dogs and their owners alike. A small fee will be associated with meetups for now to secure spaces and to provide the wine -- but our dog & wine yappy hours will be priceless!
If you are anything like us -- lovers of both wine and dogs -- you will also love this group! However, non-drinkers are of course welcome too... the more the merrier!
They are essential to NYC Yappy Hour's well-being. Why? Because we can't drink wine outdoors, so we need to bring our dogs to indoor spaces. Indoor spaces require reservations. Reservations require a deposit. A deposit requires knowledge that you'll have enough attendees. And knowledge of
So... in short, please RSVP for our events, whether your answer is "yes," "no," or "maybe." If you respond "yes" or "no" and your answer changes, please be sure to change your RSVP response as soon as possible. If you respond "maybe," please switch your RSVP to "yes" or "no" at least 3 days before the event.

What is NYC Yappy Hour?
We are a group dedicated to providing socialization for NYC pups in safe, enclosed spaces, as well as to providing a fun group atmosphere for pet owners complete with wine.
What if I am a non-drinker?
Non-drinkers are welcome to this group -- the wine is provided for the group's enjoyment, but it is by no means a mandatory way to participate.
Will the dogs be drinking the wine?
No, silly! The wine is for humans only.
Where will meetups be held?
Since we are a Yappy Hour, we will generally schedule meetups in indoor spaces where wine and spirits are allowed. The precise location of the meetup will vary, and will definitely be responsive to your input! If you have a suggestion about a great potential meetup location, please feel free to email me.
What kinds of dogs are allowed?
Given the restrictions of indoor spaces, NYC Yappy Hour's events unfortunately cannot accomodate dogs larger than 25lbs. However, we nevertheless have serious love for pooches of all shapes and sizes!
How often will the group meet?
That's totally up to you! Right now we will be a monthly meetup group. If there is great demand for more frequent sessions, we will take careful note!
What kind of wine will be served?
For now, it will be a nice mix aimed to please as many members as possible. However, please be sure to fill in the question about your wine preference in your personal profile; that will greatly help us determine what types of wines to bring. As time goes on we will get to know everyone's preferences better and better, but that will require your ongoing input and suggestions -- this meetup would be nothing without its members!
I RSVP'd "no" to an event. My plans have changed. Can I come anyway?
As stated above in our "RSVP Policy," NYC Yappy Hour depends heavily on the accuracy of RSVPs for its well-being. Please be mindful of this policy when you RSVP, and know that deposits -- aka real money -- is frequently on the line when events are scheduled. If you RSVP'd "no" and your plans change, please make sure you log into your Meetup.com account and change your RSVP as soon as you know. If your plans change absolutely last minute, please try to shoot me an email personally, even if its just a few minutes before the event. We are thankful for your consideration!
What are your fees?
Happily, NYC Yappy Hour has no annual membership fee. However, our events will generally be held in indoor spaces, which require a deposit, and, ultimately, a full fee. We are very conscious of keeping costs down for members -- but because of the event space fees and the cost of providing wine, we are required to charge a small fee for each meetup.
How else can I help?
Members are everything in this meetup group... so your wants and needs are the group's wants and needs. Please feel free to submit all suggestions, complaints, compliments and musings either to me personally or to the group's message board... your voice will definitely be heard :)
