Live Rock Music and Great Mexican Food

Update:

1) Traci has kindly volunteered to be the co-host for Fun in San Diego this evening. Please look for her by the Fun In San Diego MeetUp sign.

2) Evan informed me that he is out sick until Friday. If you want table reservations, please call the restaurant directly, mention you're with MeetUp: [masked]

Happy Holidays and here's wishing you all a Happy New Year! It's a New Year and here's a new place for live music. Que Pasa is a great little gem 1/2 block West of the I-15 at Mercy Rd/ Scripps Poway Parkway with excellent Mexican food and a great layout for live music. They're working on a Cabaret License to allow them to open later and have late night dancing - stay tuned for that.

We'll start at 7 PM, live music starts at 7:30 PM - stay late for their novel Late Nite Happy hour (9 PM until closing time: drink and appetizer specials). Our own Assistant Organizer, Steve Wolff will be playing 2 sets (his first time playing at this venue). He'll do 1 set "Almost Unplugged" and then 1, possibly more sets of his 1 Man Rock Band. As he does at his other venues, he'll leave his set lists on the tables and at the bar so that you can choose what songs you want him to play from over 100 songs spanning 5 decades of rock.

These events are usually well attended by a friendly often fairly crowded group but the layout of the place will still allow you to get a table with a few people if you want. If you want to reserve a dinner table, call the bar directly, mention you're with the MeetUp and ask for Evan, the manager. He will take care of you. His number is[masked] 9074. Please note that the bar's policy is min. 2 drinks, appetizers or food during live music events (after all, they have to pay the rent...)

So come on by and check out this great new place on the border of Scripps Ranch and Rancho Penesquitos and enjoy some fun, live music. If, as usual, we get a good turnout, I'll look for a cohost to help greet and make introductions near to the MeetUp sign. This event is cross posted, so please only sign up at one MeetUp, so we can maximize the number of people who can attend within the RSVP limits.

To get there, exit Mercy Rd/ Scripps Poway Parkway and head West. Take the first driveway on the RHS (into the Chevron station) and look behind the gas station for the small strip-mall. Que Pasa is the last place on the RHS as you're facing the mini-mall.

I had a great time visiting with new and old friends. Steve was rocking, as usual. Wish he could've played longer!

Great place, but was double booked with another act accidentally by the 2 bar managers so I ended up stopping early.

Thank Jocelyn: that'd be great: FYI there'll be another leader for a different MeetUp that this is cross posted to, but that's no problem. I'll bring signs
