Potluck Game Night

Come enjoy board games, socialize, and fill up on potluck style snacks. We have a variety of games here, or bring your own to play. More complex games are welcome, but you might want to post a link to a quick walk through beforehand so half the night isn't consumed getting people ready to play. (We'll post some for the games we have soon.) To help make more time/focus for the games, we are going to skip the main dish meal style dinner and go more snack-style (e.g., mini sandwiches, bean dips with chips, etc.) so we can get straight to the games. There's plenty of space to have 4+ games going at once, and we've done so before. Bring something to share and/or drink.

Kids are welcome, and we have games for them too. The earlier part of the night is typically aimed more towards them, though not exclusively. Feel free to stop by a bit later if you want. We usually go until 10pm or so.

While the majority of people in attendance will likely be from Freethinkers, other game-loving friends may be here as well. Golden rule, be respectful, etc. etc..

Change me from 1+1 to 1+0. My sweetheart has to work Saturday and doesn't want to think that hard after a full day's work. I'm still coming, though.

I was so looking forward to this event, but I have a very bad cold. I don't want to spread it to anyone else, so I'll just stay home. Have fun!

I started building a page of the games we have. I'll add to it this week, so check back. You should be able to find info on these from the net ahead of time.
http://ezracc.com/games/board-games.html We do have an xBox w/ Kinect - I'll add a list of titles we have for that as well.

I've never heard of some of these games. Are all the games on an xbox or wii or ps3? Does anybody play cards on this game night?

these are board games. the 2 that I mentioned are both representative of the German invasion games, so called because they come from a number of board games (from Germany, of course) designed to be easily played in 1 evening and so that a person left behind early in the game isn't necessarily out of the game for the entire match.

Yes on Settlers of Catan. We have the Seafarers and the Knights and Barbarians expansions along with 6 player expansions for all three. No go on Starships of Catan though.

Nifty neato keen. Once I see what you folks' walkthrus look like, I might bring Starfarer along.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
