What a great turnout! I've updated this Meetup to increase the attendance limit so we can accommodate everyone There is another large group having a tour at 1:00, so we now have a reservation for a 2:00 tour. We will be doing lunch before the tour, so the plan is to meet at Manna Cafe at 12:30, to ensure we have plenty of time to lunch and pay before we head over to the Governor's Mansion. It's less than a half mile between the two locations.
Here's something for us lucky ladies that don't have to work anymore! (Or anyone else who is free on a Thursday afternoon).
Let's do a tour of the Governor's Mansion, followed by a late lunch at Manna Cafe.
Spring and Summer public tours of the Executive Residence will resume on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Tours will be held every Thursday through the end of August from 1-3 p.m.
There will be no charge for admission. Cameras are allowed, however, backpacks and large purses will not be permitted inside the Executive Residence.
The guided tours will last approximately 20 to 30 minutes and will include a historical account of the rooms on the first floor of the Residence. Visitors will also have the opportunity to walk the grounds to view the stunning gardens and beautiful Lake Mendota.
The Executive Residence is located at 99 Cambridge Road on Madison's northeast side in the Village of Maple Bluff. The Executive Residence is handicapped accessible. Thank you!
After the tour, let's head over to the Manna Cafe, which is nearby on N. Sherman Avenue for a late lunch . See their website, mannacafe.com, to check out the daily and weekly specials.
