We are currently open for members who desire a close-knit, active playgroup for 0-5 year-olds in the Lake Norman area.
We are looking for members who are seeking an active, supportive, non-judgmental, fun-loving group of mothers and young children. We keep membership numbers low so faces quickly become familiar and close friendships between both mothers and children frequently follow. Our desire is to have members that are dedicated to just one or two playgroups because we like to see our members more than once a month. :)
Being a Mama is hard work, and sometimes can be lonely, so we wanted to create a group of fabulous non-judgmental ladies who want to form lasting friendships and watch our children grow together. Most of all, we just want to have FUN!FUN! FUN! Many of our members are stay at home moms, but we also have a few that work part-time or work irregular hours. Most playdates are hosted during weekday mornings or afternoons. We also try to have at least one mom's night out per month and we occasionally have weekend events that include the dads as well.
We try to offer up a variety of events. Crafting playdates are always popular as well as many seasonal parties as well. We have had animal encounters at Zootastic, wagon rides at Lazy 5, strawberry picking at Patterson farms, apple picking at Carrigan farms, park playdates, bounce house playdates, splash pad playdates, and we love the pony-riding playdates.
LKN Fabulous Friends is for mamas and children pre-kindergarten and younger. Some members also have school aged children, but child-centered playdates are focused on the 6 and under crowd. Most members live in Huntersville, Cornelius, Mooresville, Denver, North Charlotte, Davidson, and the Concord Mills area. Many events are located centrally in Huntersville.
Want to know more? It is so simple... we ask is you be active and supportive within the group
1. Attend at least one meetup during the one month free trial period
2. Participate actively in the group by attending 1-2 events per month
3. Host one event per quarter whether it be a park playdate, coffee date for moms, in-home playdate, Mom's night out, etc. Brand new members need not fulfill this requirement immediately.
4. Since our group started, we have provided a mommy meal train for all newborn babies. The new mom chooses the week that works best for meals and we sign up to deliver at least 5 different days. I can say that this was absolutely wonderful after the birth of my son. Two ladies delivered meals to my front step that I had never even met before. That just shows how wonderful our group is. It is expected for every member to participate at least once a year in the meal train.
The group requirements are meant to enhance the supportive, welcoming, close-knit nature of the group, because every member is vital and appreciated. Most members go above and beyond the minimal requirements just because they love the group and want it to continue to succeed and offer support and friendships for years to come.
