I really enjoyed our discussion last night of Alice Hoffman. I kept wondering about Alice Hoffman having written Independence Day because I thought it was written by Richard Ford. So I googled it and neither Alice Hoffman nor Richard Ford wrote the Independence Day Sci-Fi film! Here is what I found out:
Independence Day by Alice Hoffman – Released in 1983 the film concerns the small-town life of an artist (Quinlan) and her challenge to become "what she's almost sure she could be”.
Independence Day the movie – written by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich, was released in 1996 and is an American military science fiction disaster film about an alien invasion of Earth.
Independence Day by Richard Ford - published in 2010 it is Book 2 of a Trilogy, which is an often poetic, sometimes searing, sometimes hilarious account of a few days around the Fourth of July weekend of 1988.
