The array of marketing tactics available today is staggering. But which tactics fit the strategic approach that is right for your business?
In this event, local marketing experts will discuss some of the tactical approaches that are available as you bring products to market. More importantly we will discuss the importance of an end-to-end marketing strategy. Not just how to create demand and generate sales -- but how to create an overall strategy that allows you make sure you are talking about the right product to the right people in such a way that they are able to consider your product or offering for purchase, and then have an experience with your product or offering that makes them want to buy it again.
Lisa Abourezk of Houdiny.com will lead this discussion. Peter Propp of Shore.com will also present. Here is a high level view of some of the topics Lisa and Peter will cover:
What does “marketing” mean today?
Looking at the WHOLE rather than just a PART of the business -- NOT just “advertising” “brand”, Twitter, Tweets, Likes, etc.
Product, sales, customer service
Start with Strategy, not tactics -- What are your goals?
Where does a business start?
What is your core value? What are you offering that’s different, new, exciting?
Stop talking to yourself!! How to get input from potential customers, not just your friends and family.
Craft a compelling story/narrative based on your positioning
How to Execute Tactical Plans that Work (hint: some of them don’t work!)
Topical content, well presented. A few more case studies would be nice, versus anecdotes. The shifts in the market are entirely disruptive to the marketing status quo. Yesterday's tool kit is woefully inadequate. New thinking required.

I liked the structure of the presentation - would have liked to see examples of the how to fix the issues Lisa talked about.

Wish it had allowed a little more time - presenters were great, good message, well done - they didn't try to include the entire encyclopedia in the deck
