18 Coming to Social Media Cage Match -- 18 more and we get pizza!!

From: Peter P.
Sent on: Monday, January 9, 2012 11:50 PM
If you were at our November Meetup, I shared some of the economics of running a Meetup.  I just found out that I will have to pay taxes on the income -- not too happy about that, but I'll survive. But I did reveal the major secret of the quality of food I provide and I want to use this information as a way to encourage you to invite your friends.  Here's the deal:  If we get 36 or more attendees, I will order Pizza from Westport Pizza.  Less than 36 and its anyone's guess. You shouldn't need much of a reason to encourage your friends, to join, but hey, if you know you'll be running late and don't just want to eat chips and carrots, make sure your friends know about our Jan 18 event at the VFW. Here's the invite I sent last week: Social media continues to dominate the marketing landscape as a must-have tactic and an exciting way to tell any story -- and critique what you find wrong with the world. But what are the best ways to harness the power of Social Media to achieve a business objective? Register for our January 18 event by clicking here.

Shore Communications President John Blossom will represent the case for Google+, the platform that's been built from the ground up to avoid the mistakes of all the other Social media platforms.

Nate Berger, President of KnockMedia will represent Facebook in all its dominant glory. What are the trends, what should we look for?

John and Nate have first hand experience with these platforms that will help you develop your future social media marketing efforts.

Please join us on the 18th at 7pm at the Westport VFW for what I'm sure will be a very lively discussion.

About Nate Berger:

Founder of KnockMedia, Nate Berger has over 10 years of experience in design, development and marketing of websites and web applications. Nate has an undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and a Masters Degree in eMedia from Quinnipiac University. His visionary leadership and technical ability enable him to play a critical role in the planning and execution of both small and large-scale web-based initiatives. Nate's current areas of expertise include brand development, social media and search engine marketing.

-- Nate also creates some of the most effective Facebook pages around.

About John Blossom

Read John's Bio here. It is super impressive. More importantly for this discussion, you should know that John has more than 10K Google Plus followers and nearly 2400 Twitter followers. He's been a professional in the world of content for a long time and is the author of the excellent book "Content Nation."

I look forward to hearing what John and Nate have to share on Facebook, Google Plus and the broader social media scene. I hope to see you there. Register for our January 18 event by clicking here.
