In celebration of 1000 members of Fairfax Happy Hours for Young Adults, Natalie and Jerrod are excited to bring you a fun and exciting event aboard the Boomerang Pirate Ship! Come sail with your fellow Fairfax Happy Hour members for a 2.5 hour cruise along the Potomac River, taking in the city lights and dancing under the stars! For being such awesome and loyal members, Natalie and Jerrod will be purchasing everyone's first beverage! Be sure to check out all of the details below!
About the ship
The Boomerang Pirate Ship is an 84 passenger Double Decker party boat with a large open floor plan with an enclosed bar and bathroom area. Once you’ve soaked in Washington, DC’s famous cityscape from either of the open air decks, walk the plank over to the dance floor and find out who surrenders the booty! When you’ve worked up a thirst, head into the gally and plunder some grog with the wenches.
Additional information plus an FAQ can be found on their website: http://boomerangpirateship.com/dc-pirate-ship-cruises.html
Dancing, Drinks, Food, & more!
The Boomerang Pirate Ship is equipped with a full bar serving liquor, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages. Drink prices range from $5 to $8. Snack food is available as well. The ship has a giant dance floor with a DJ spinning the latest hits. If you're not up to dancing, then head up to the top deck for sight-seeing and conversation.
Your first drink is on us!
Be sure to grab your drink coupon when you arrive. Hand the coupon to the bartender in order to get your first drink for free! Only 1 coupon will be given per person.
Tickets are $24 (after discount) and must be purchased ahead of time to sail on the ship. Boomerang is offering a 20% discount on our tickets (normally $30). Tickets can be purchased from this link: http://www.zerve.com/amp/view_activity.php?activity_id=4849&event_id=2299548 . Be sure to use the promotional code FYA to get your 20% discount!
Refunds are not available. The only time refunds will be provided is if there is inclement weather, which prohibits the ship from operating.
Where to meet
The ship leaves from the Georgetown Waterfront docks at 3100 K St. NW DC 20007 at 8:30 pm sharp! We will meet at the docks 30 minutes prior to boarding, at 8:00 pm. You must be there and checked in in order to board. The ship leaves at 8:30 pm, with or without you.
Parking and Directions
There is street parking and parking garages near the waterfront. There are a couple of garaged right next to the waterfront that can be used. They are price around$6-$8. I highly suggest using the one located off of Wisconsin Ave and K St. It is close to the waterfront and open until late.
Parking information can be found here: http://www.georgetowndc.com/parking/
Walking from K St., turn south onto 31st st. and take it all the way to the water. If you are looking at the river from the Georgetown waterfront, the Ship will pull up at the end of the dock, all the way on the right. It won't be hard to miss a big pirate ship from there!
- Please RSVP to this meetup only if you actually intend on going. This will help us organize who all will be there. Please RSVP after you have purchased your tickets.
- The cruise will occur rain or shine. Only heavy rains and other inclement weather will keep the ship from sailing.
- No, you do not need to dress like a pirate to attend... unless you really want to. This just happens to be a party cruise on a ship that happens to look like a pirate ship. The staff, on the other hand, will be dressed as pirates and wenches.
- After the party cruise, we will stay in Georgetown and hit up a bar or two while we are there.
