This is the club for Local to Global travel

I like to travel, espcially with a focus on culture, history, and art. Its always a lot more fun with a group you know and share common interests. So I am creating this group to gather those of similar interests in the Fairfax, VA area who have the time during the week to meet. Getting some exercise in the process is a geat benefit.

This group will meet monthly to discuss, research, plan and then travel to those places the group likes.

We will have as a goal a monthly trip generally locally or regionally perhaps to a art museum, gardens, historical site, perhaps a winery tour and tasting.

On the longer term we will identify a yearly trip that is more expansive, maybe international, a themed cruise, European river cruise, land tour of a country, etc., where we can invite our spouses, friends, etc., to join us.

Each member of the group will be asked to plan a trip and act as trip leader for that trip and we will rotate this so that everyone participates.

Meetings will be during weekdays probably late morning or early afternoon initially at a Fairfax Coffee shop. Members should actively like and be able to travel within the region. Members will be asked to help defray the $15 monthly cost of this meet up space by $1 donation at meetings.
