SRA Volleyball Courts
Still looking like mid 60s high so keeping start time at 11am...
This meetup is for competitive players who have a good working knowledge and skill level of volleyball. Please don't come out if your only experience is backyard/bbq volleyball. You need to be at a BB level or higher. If you haven't played competitively, this is not for you. To keep it competitive, I reserve the right to ask you not to come back if you don't meet these requirements. If you hit the ball over on the first or second hit, you are not understanding me. Bump set spike please! Now, with that said, please come enjoy the sun, sand, and weather with us at the outdoor courts at SRA off of Monument Drive in Fairfax.
There are two courts available. One is the "A" court, one is the "B" court. Everyone likes to play on the A court because there is a big hill on the B court. So to keep it fair we typically split up into 2 groups play for a certain number of games, then switch so everyone plays on both. Then we will split up again to make new teams and do it again. Eventually after enough people leave we will just end up on the A court rotating one or two in, or have 3 teams rotating. Court A is used by a group that starts really early and ussually ends by 10:30 am, so we ussually start on Court B and then migrate to Court A.
Bring lots of water, sports drinks and snacks! Also, don't forget sun screen, bug spray.
Please keep your attitude positive and comments friendly or you will not be welcome back. If you can't make it on time, please feel free to drop by later in the day and jump in if we are still playing. Also, don't forget to pick up your trash and leave the place the way we found it!
Please note that this is a public court. If someone gets there before us, we can try to join them or wait for them to finish. If you are planning your own outing at these courts, please contact me in advance so I can adjust the time of this meetup or work with you so our groups don't have any contention over the courts. My email address is [masked]. Please feel free to contact me.
