Hartford Distributers and the Museum have been hard at work lining up the finest local craft beer vendors for the first ever Craft Sippin' in New Britain. Approximately 15 beer vendors will be joined by some of our favorite local restaurants for a night of blues, brews, and activities.

Participating restaurants include East Side Restaurant, Sliders Grill & Bar, Nora Cupcake, and Jordan Caterers. Beer tastings include samples from Back East, Cambridge House, Thomas Hooker, Charter Oak, Long Trail, Dogfish Head, Founder's, Arch, and Sliders Grill & Bar’s very own Flippin Bird Ale.

Don’t stop at food and drink, join others in creating your own drink coasters. Live blues will be performed throughout the night by Bob Orsi & Joel Blumert as you sip those blues away!

I was unable to make this event. 84 was basically a parking lot and at 630 when I was still only in Newtown, I had to make a choice to not attempt the rest of the drive. Bummer, I'd already gotten my ticket!

If I didn't already have my ticket I might have passed too. Left Stamford at 3:30, arrived at the museum a little after 6!! The Merritt basically stopped in Fairfield, I took back roads to Newtown and 84. 84 stopped at the Rt 8 intersection, but then opened up again. (I thought only lower Fairfield County had traffic like that.) Well you donated to a good cause. That museum is great, as my pics will show.

A very nice event. As expected, it got crowded after the first half hour or so. Not often you can refer to a Beer Fest as classy, but this one sure was. The New Britain Museum is a lot more museum than you might expect to find in a town like that and worth a visit, with or without beer. Will post some pics tomorrow.

Home 1 day early from MA. Unfortunate won't make it back north for Brew Fest, but happy to be home.

Just purchased my ticket. If you are serious about going I suggest you buy your ticket today for the $5 discount and to be assured entry (it may be crowded). Link is on the event meetup page or you can try this: http://www.nbmaa.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=190
Weather is not going to be great going up, but may clear by the drive home. Allow plenty of drive time. Suggest being there at 6, if possible. The first half hour should be the least crowded if you want to talk to sales reps. Take a close look at your driving directions, New Britian can be a little confusing to get around. Should be a great event!
