    Hi Gang -

Sorry I wasn't able to make it. I know as a rule of thumb the organizer is supposed to actually show up, but I had to work today and I couldn't change my schedule.

I hope you guys enjoyed yourselves . . . . it sounds like you did. ;-)

Hi Chris, Thanks for setting this up. We had a great time and we have already made plans to come back! As soon as we find out which day they are releasing the Stout, I'll post it. No tour that day, but we'll bring our own food to snack on! It will be great!

      January 26, 2013

  • Marianne

Is it just me or do our Saturday meetups always get a little more rowdy? Maybe it is that we didn't work all day before coming or that we don't have to work the next day, but we always get a little more zany on Saturdays! Fantastic group of people and a fantastic day. Old friends and new!

Okay, sounds good, leave a message if I don't answer as I will be working games.

    January 22, 2013

  • Paul

What time are you guys gonna be there until? I work until 7:00, if the group is going somewhere after, or if some members are hanging out elsewhere, I would like to know.

    January 21, 2013

    • Jon

I'll call you after the tour

      January 22, 2013

  • Christopher P.

I have emailed Emily Sauter at the brewery and confirmed 35 (expecting some cancelations and no-shows down to about 25).

The tour is limited to about 20, but Emily has said that they will accommodate the group up to 25 as needed (even possibly a separate tour)

I won't be able to be there myself as I have to work (when you're self-employed you take what and when you get it).

Have a good time, and enjoy a pint for me.

I went this past weekend. Really cool space, good brew, and grilled cheese truck parked out front. A flight of 5 small beers was $10 bucks which I thought was pretty reasonable. Fun times!

Had this past Thursday off, went there in the afternoon. The Road To Ruin double IPA is very good. Ther setting is awsome, old factory with original wood everywhere. Windows pretty much from floor to ceiling, large tasting room, brick everywhere, wood floors. Large glass wall over looks the brewery from the second floor. Sunset was awsome, blinding. They have a gift shop, kind of expensive. 1 beer was $6.00, small ones were $2.00 each, I thought it would be cheaper there. I thought also the bar manager was kind of unfriendly, she pissed my friend off and the funny thing is, I ran into her last night at Bar 127 in Shelton and she was still crabby. Knapps Landing has great Seafood and is 5 minutes down the road on the water in Stratford. The only thing about the meetup is they are only open from 3 - 8 on the 31st. Hope to get down there that night.

I guess I need to leave this up to the group as the brewery is not open very late, I'm wondering if it's late enough for mos who would attend.

    Tuesday-Friday: 3-8
    Saturday: 12-8
    Sunday: 12-5

Let me know and I'll see what I can do do about getting a date locked in.

    Thanks for your patience!

This is true. This is a new commercial craft brewery in Stratford that has yet to officially open.

There are no plans for on premises food service at the brewery, however when the outdoor "biergardten" opens in the spring/summer, food will be made available by way of a rotating schedule of food trucks.

Perhaps I posted too early, but I was just attempting to guage interest before approaching my contacts there.

Their tap room is not yet open to the public.

I know a number of people there, and can make arrangements with them once the time is right.

Two Roads Brewing Company is a new craft brewery in Stratford, CT. Located in the former US Baird Manufacturing plant, the brewery houses a 100 barrel brewhouse. The tap room (when open to the public) is right along side the brewhouse, and overlooks the fermentation and production floor below.

Head brewer Phil Markowski, formally of Southampton Publick House, will be brewing some great beers at Two Roads, as well as doing contract brewing for other smaller breweries and brewpubs looking to brew larger batches of their beers.

Check them out at www.tworoadsbrewing.com or on their Facebook page.

I suspect I should be able to schedule an event there sometime after the first of the year, so stay tuned!
