Intro to 3d Printing

3D printing has been described as having the power to revolutionize manufacturing and rapid prototyping.  Whether you're a tinkerer, inventor, artist, designer or just curious about the world of 3D printing, you don't want to miss this introduction to 3D printing class.  You will learn the basics of creating a 3D drawing and the process of turning that drawing into a physical object within a matter of minutes.  We will have a Makerbot Replicator and a home built Reprap 3D printer.  Bring your laptop computer with Google SketchUp installed to get the most out of the class but not required in order to participate.

Thanks to everybody who showed up, hope you all enjoyed it! Please feel free to message me or Vladimir if you have any questions. Also, I will schedule an OpenSCAD tutorial some time in June after I get back from Hong Kong if there is anyone who wants helpful pointers on how to use this software for 3D modelling.

Thanks a lot for showing. Also, I mentioned on the way out an artist that uses a bunch of reprap printers - his site is shanehope.com - he even prints his business cards with them.

I'm not sure, however previous meetings were held in the "Chess Room" on the second floor.
