Microcontroller Study Group

Join us for an exciting course!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUtsCLgNomo

How do they do it? If that is your reaction every time you see an electronic gadget you like, then wonder no more. Join us on a journey that will unravel how these electronic gadgets are designed, developed, and built as embedded systems that shape the world.

This is a course offered by Edx.org through the University of Texas at Austin.  You can register for the class at https://www.edx.org/course/utaustinx/utaustinx-ut-6-01x-embedded-systems-1172

EdX is a non-profit online initiative created by founding partners Harvard and MIT that offers free interactive online classes from the world's best Universities including MIT, Harvard, Berkely, UT and many other universities.

The Fairfield County Makers' Guild will hold weekly study groups for members who sign up for the course.  This is a hands-on, learn-by-doing course that shows you how to build solutions to real-world problems using embedded systems. Each student will purchase a Texas Instruments TM4C123 microcontroller kit and a few electronic components.

I have ordered 10 boards to make sure we can secure enough for our members but you also have the option of ordering one for yourself by following the class links.  I will also stock up on the additional electronic components required. Send me an email at [masked] if you would like to have a board reserved for you.

The weekly study group will be available for members of FCMG with the exception of the January 23 meeting which is open and free to everyone.  If you are curious about this weekly study group but aren't sure you want to commit then join us on Thursday the 23rd to meet us and get an overview of the group. The date above is the start date of the class but subsequent meetings will be on Wednesdays.

We are looking to open the doors to our space in January.  Membership will be $50 a month and will get you access to the space, an awesome community, and all the equipment and tools we can manage to fit (and afford).  More details to follow on exact date of opening and membership info but to secure your spot for the study group go ahead and RSVP for this meetup and follow the links above to register for the class.
