Pimmit Run Trail Hike

Please join members of the Fairlington Social Club on Sunday June 30, 2013 @ 9:00 AM for a hike of the Pimmit Run Trail.

The Pimmit Run Trail follows the Pimmit Run stream valley about 8 miles from Chain Bridge in Arlington County to Olney Park in Pimmit Hills located in Fairfax County.

There is abundant wildlife in the stream valley–deer, fox, raccoon, coyotes, beaver, blue heron, pileated woodpeckers, ducks and other birds.

A circuit hike from Chain Bridge along Pimmit Run in Virginia, we will hike an 8 mile loop that is mostly flat with some hills. We will hike at a moderate pace.

Bring drinking water and a snack. We will make stops as needed.

Wear your comfy walking shoes. Dogs are welcome.

Meet at the Fairlington Villages office located at 3001 S Abingdon St Arlington, VA 22206 at 9:00 AM if you are interested in car pooling.

Otherwise, park along the street near 4101 N Randolph St Arlington, VA 22207 at 9:30 AM. (Randolph Street & Randolph Court)

Look for the bike path signs and follow the bike path down the hill to where the  trailhead is located near Chain Bridge.

We will do lunch after after the hike.

Visit http://www.fairfaxtrails.org/pimmit/110707Legal_brochures_updown.pdf for more information about the trail.

I would love to come tomorrow but my knee has been bothering me for a week since I played tennis. So unfortunately I have to drop out. I hope everyone has a great time.

Meet other hikers at the Fairlington Villages Community Center at 9 am on Sunday. They will carpool to the trail head. I will be meeting some folks at the Rosslyn metro at the same time.
I am hoping the weather remains acceptable. It is really an interesting trail. I scouted it recently and saw several animals. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting some mud on. And bring plenty of water!
The drive to the trailhead is very short. No need for much gas money.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
