FSC Ultimate Frisbee

Join us for an ultimate Frisbee pickup scrimmage with members of the Fairlington Social Club!

If you plan to join us, please RSVP "Yes", since we need a minimum of six people to play (three people per team).

If less than six people are signed up to attend an hour before the scheduled start time, the event will be cancelled.

We play every Sunday afternoon in the field adjacent to Abingdon Elementary School located at 3035 South Abingdon Street, Arlington, VA 22206.

There is plenty of parking in the school parking lot.

FSC Ultimate is for beginners and anyone just looking to hang with other meetup members and get some exercise.  Ultimate frisbee is a simple running and passing game (if you're new to the game, you get the hang of it within a few minutes).  Check out ultimate frisbee guidelines here:

and terms here:

You don't have to be a perfect athlete to have fun!  Ultimate is easy, great exercise, and a cool way to interact with your neighbors.  You won't need any equipment, just show up and have a good time!  Our games are not intended for serious competition.  Experienced players, please help coach new players and promote Spirit of the Game.  We play automatic offense possession on the pull (no turnovers for dropped disks on the pull).

Please bring a dark and white shirt to the game so we can make up teams.

When we  cancel, we cancel using the website at least an hour before game time.  So if the weather looks iffy, just check this website to see if the game is still on.  If the game isn't cancelled, then plan on playing.

Since we need a minimum of 6 players for a game, please don't no-show...if you find you can't make it (even at the last minute), please just change your RSVP to "no".

Just did a Tour de Fairlington on the way home from lunch -- it is a beautiful day, lots of runners, dog walkers, and interesting snowmen around the neighborhood.

However, the field on which we play Ultimate Frisbee is ankle deep or better in snow. If you wear your normal athletic shoes today, your feet will get wet.

Recommended wearing waterproof hiking shoes/boots to keep your feet dry.

Although we mark the end zones with orange cones, determining the sidelines for today's game will be interesting with all the snow.

    Game on!

See everyone at 3:30 PM today.

Hey, all. Still a bit of post-op fatigue. Can't make it. Next week for sure!

I'm on the fence. Anyone know what the field looks like? Is it a swamp right now?

      Most likely.
