Please join members of the Fairlington Social Club for the 24th annual Rosslyn Jazz Festival located in Gateway Park at 1300 Lee Highway Arlington, Virginia 22209 on Saturday September 6, 2014 from 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
The Rosslyn Jazz Festival is an annual music celebration in Gateway Park just across Key Bridge from Washington, DC.
The event is free and open to the public.
A street festival adjacent to the park on Lee Highway will feature local food trucks that will provide concessions along with beer and wine for sale provided by the Washington Wine Academy.
The festival is broadcast live on the radio by jazz station WPFW 89.3 FM.
The three acre park features restrooms, water fountains, a paved trail, ornamental/rose garden, a ornamental fountain, and a amphitheater. It is located just two blocks from the Rosslyn Metro (Blue, Orange, and Silver lines), at the foot of the Key Bridge.
Festival parking is available for $5 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at 1911 North Fort Myer Drive. The parking entrance is on North Moore Street.
Bring your blanket or lawn chair and your "Aunt Bee" picnic basket filled with tasty food and a bottle of wine and join us for an afternoon of jazz music.

3:45 - 5:00 Red Baraat - Eight-piece pioneering band from Brooklyn that merges North Indian bhangra rhythms with elements of jazz, go-go, brass funk and hip-hop.
5:30 - 6:45 Rebirth Brass Band - Rebirth Brass Band: New Orleans Grammy-winners who uphold the tradition of brass bands while bringing in funk and hip-hop rhythms.

We will be seated about 20 yards from the stage on blankets in the center of the park, just in front of the concrete divider steps. Look for the Fairlington Social Club signs.
Although the jazz festival ends at 7:00 PM, a few members will be leaving early to run the Arlington 9-11 Memorial 5K Run while most FSCers will stay to enjoy the entire show.
