Beginner's Ultimate Frisbee

New time as of 11/25/12 is 3:30pm (for a little more sunlight!)

Join us for an ultimate frisbee pickup scrimmage with members of the Fairlington Social Club!

FSC Ultimate is for beginners and anyone just looking to hang with other meetup members and get some exercise.  Ultimate frisbee is a simple running and passing game (if you're new to the game, you get the hang of it within a few minutes).  Check out ultimate frisbee guidelines here: http://pages.uoregon.edu/schlossb/student_resources/ultimate_overview.pdf
and terms here:

You don't have to be a perfect athlete to have fun!  Ultimate is easy, great exercise, and a cool way to interact with your neighbors.  You won't need any equipment, just show up and have a good time!  Our games are not intended for serious competition.  Experienced players, please help coach new players and promote Spirit of the Game.  We play automatic offense possession on the pull (no turnovers for dropped disks on the pull).

Please bring a dark and white shirt to the game so we can make up teams.  When we (rarely) cancel, we cancel using the website at least an hour before game time.  So if the weather looks iffy, just check this website to see if the game is still on.  If the game isn't cancelled, then plan on playing.  Since we need a minimum of 6 players for a game, please don't no-show...if you find you can't make it (even at the last minute), please just change your RSVP to "no".

We play every Sunday afternoon in the field adjacent to Abingdon Elementary School located at 3035 South Abingdon Street Arlington, VA 22206.  There is plenty of parking in the school parking lot.  If you plan to join us, please RSVP, since we need a minimum of three people per team to play.

I thought game was always on rain or shine? At least, that's the sales pitch I remember being told.
