On Thursday, November 10, and Monday, November 14, (10:00 am to 2:00 pm) we will have service/learning opportunities with Earth Sangha. Lisa Bright of Earth Sangha will instruct us in the art of cleaning the seeds of Andropogon virginicus (Broom-sedge). These two events will be not only educational but also vital for the restoration work of Earth Sangha. This fall, Lisa, ARMN members, and other Earth Sangha volunteers have been diligently collecting seeds from area meadows to fulfill a very tall order from the National Park Service. The NPS has ordered many pounds of seeds from Earth Sangha so that it can “hydro-plant” grasses and other plants by shooting seeds into the banks of the Potomac River along park land where Kudzu and other invasives have recently been reduced. Other public parks and preserves in our area have ordered seeds as well. So by participating in these two seed-cleaning events, you will be making a very significant contribution to restoring our native ecology.

In addition, a door-prize will be offered at each session!!!

What more could anyone ask?
