We are an inclusive, respectful group of families dedicated to getting our children outdoors and into nature.  With over-scheduled lives and the attractions of electronic media, our kids suffer from what "nature deficit disorder," cut off from the rich learning environment around them.  Join us for child-led exploration and adventures in nature!

This group encompasses the greater Seattle area.  We have members from Everett to Olympia, from both sides of Puget Sound and both sides of the mountains.

This group is free to all!

Some general guidelines and requirements for meetups:
• An adult must always accompany children. That guardian is fully responsible for his/her child.  The organizers and event hosts are eager to facilitate your child's exploration of nature, but they assume no responsibility for safety.
• Dress appropriately for the weather (layers and sun protection) and outdoor conditions (getting wet and/or dirty).  Children should feel free to explore in all types of conditions!
• Please always bring water and a snack. You may also wish to pack a picnic, (in your backpack or car), for after the outing has ended.
• While we mostly keep to designated trails, children will be encouraged to explore their surroundings. This may mean that, when it is okay, they explore off trail or handle appropriate natural treasures.
• Please leave your four-legged family members at home.
• Respect others and the environment.
• Please arrive on time. The leader will depart from the meeting point after 10 minutes of waiting for participants who responded that they were attending. No one is obligated to stay for the duration of the outing, or to complete a specific hike or other goal.  You can work with your children to find the right balance of challenge and fun.
• Be prepared to relax and have fun!
