    Hi folks,

I tried to replicate css3 rotation refer: (http://codepen.io/AllanDennis/pen/enaIj)
    in famo.us

and this is what I have:

    http://codepen.io/webossfo/pen/EAIam

I have not done 3D in the past- so it was a bit of work.. So I hope it is of use to some of the folks..

What you will learn from this is 1) Use Modifiers instead of StateModifiers (StateModifer was what was used in FAMO.US university lessons thus far- I learnt that StateModifer is a helper/super class of Modifier - Thanks Mark Lu!), Timer functionality (similar to Jquery - no biggie) and Matrix usage.

In the next iteration. I will add event handling like in the CSS3 example wherein on hover the cube becomes bigger.

Feel free to ping me on FAMO.US irc or email for questions.

    Cheers

    Uma

Thanks Uma! Just what I was looking for to begin getting a handle on 3D in Famous.

I've adopted your code, and with a few edits, incorporated it into the Famous local install, and have a repo here:

      https://github.com/Myt...

      See sample here: http://michaelgaio.co...

Somehow, it lost transparency. Not sure why.

I'd check out this example for another approach: https://github.com/Fam...

I went to show someone the famo.us demo this morning, only to find that it now isn't available until May 19. I'm looking for demos that can show some of the 3D type aspects (and I'm looking for developers to help me create an app I'm working on).

    1 · April 24

    • jdavid.net

What are you interested in John? I have another client that is interested in famo.us, but they don't have a q2 deliverable on it.

    • John M.

I am working on a system for wall street brokers. I need to build a demo system that is mostly mockup but has some limited functionality. Mostly I want something that looks and feels different than anything on the market, hence famo.us is of interest.

I just released my spot because I realized that since I'm on the waiting list for the dev kit, I won't be able to hack with the rest. I would love to learn more from those that have been playing around though so I may just stop by for a little bit.

    1 · April 29

I am trying to get my head around the demos - Specifically lightbox - the demo works fine.

I am trying to understand the code but I cannot find the app/scenes directory and app/SceneController directory. Any pointers will be much appreciated!

What do you guys think about possibly having a session like this one but on the weekend? As a student, I can't make it to these on the weekdays.

    1 · April 17

    • Raj S.

      works for me

      April 19

    • Troy G.

Yeah, I'd be up for weekends too. Sometimes responsibilities of my full-time day job keep me occupied during the week.
