CANCELLED due to illness - And another Walking Chinatown Tour

  • to
  • This location is shown only to members

  • This time at a DIFFERENT location there being so much to see and learn about Chinatown. Our illustrious hostess Ling will lead the way and share more about this area's rich culture and history. Emphasis will be on the oldest Chinese American history - 1. oppression via local San Francisco ordinances over a hundred years ago and challenged all the way to to the U.S. Supreme Court 2. Impact of 1906 earthquake on immigration 3. Economic niches created and occupied by the Chinese. Bring $2 cash to sustain operation of the oldest temple in North America. Bring $20 cash for lunch fund. We will feast with abandon on haute Cantonese cuisine - shrimp with shell on, Peking duck, and signature dim sum dishes. Back in the day, Chinese New Year would be celebrated from 2/10 to 3/10/13. Harmony is treasured by the Chinese and demanded in new year. Bring your best self and make a point to talk to every person.

The walking tour will start at The Dragon Archway ornate gate entry to Chinatown at Intersection of Bush Street and Grant Avenue.

    Hi Ling,
I hope that you recover soon. Take good care of yourself. Plenty of liquids and Grandma's chicken soup.

I have to follow my head and not my heart on this one. I regret to announce the cancellation of this Saturday's tour because I am contagious. My cold has made talking difficult. I don't know when the next tour might be at this point. I ask for your understanding.

Okay, so I'm "in"! Not sure what to do to confirm! This is my second meetup, so I don't know how to RSVP officially once on a wait list. Can you "convert" me to going? Thanks!

I'm a little confused. It says that there's a spot that opened up, but I don't see where to say that I'd like to go. Is it too late?

I am so upset that I can't come. Ling, your tour last Saturday was so great! I would love to come to another walk. The dim sum was so good last Saturday. I will miss the great food you order.
I hope you can lead another group on Sat. 23rd. for the poeple on the waiting list. I am going to put my name on the waiting list. I could come to your tours every year.
