Thanks to Morna who has volunteered to host our January Monthly Potluck at her home in Mill Valley.

Greek cuisine is the theme and this will be an intimate gathering with only 10 seats available.

The final guest list has been created and can be viewed as "Attending" to the right.  Those remaining on the Waiting List will be seated at a 2nd Greek Potluck dinner.

Once a month we will try to hold at least one Potluck Dinner for the Fantastic 50s Plus group. All that's needed is someone each month to volunteer to host the event at their home. If you are interested in hosting one of these, let me know which month and I'll follow up with you on the logistics. -- Edwin

I hosted and thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful, deep conversation and trying all the delicious food, drink/wine/liquor. Everybody was really nice, and helped with cleanup. Terrific!

Was so impressed by everything...Morna had created simply the perfect ambiance, a warm, inviting setting with candles and fresh flowers...though we didn't know each other, it felt like a gathering of old friends. There was a healthy balance of shared conversation, with everyone participating as well as listening. The perfect way to spend an evening! Oh, and the food was delicious!

I understand. Glad you can come. Greek appetizers or side dish would be best....or...maybe some Greek wine. Thankx

Oh dear, I did not mean to RSVP. I'm so sorry, I can't come tonight! But will go for one soon enough. I just joined yesterday, and apparently accidentally clicked on to be on the wait list. Apologies.

Hello again, I see I'm still on the list as coming...and I also see that it's tonight, not last night. It's been a very crazy week for me, but if there's a spot, I can, in fact, come tonight if you'll send me the address. I am in Mill Valley. Not sure what to bring, either...but I'm sure I can figure something out. Is there anything in particular you would need if there was space available for me?

I'm so sorry, Joe and I need to cancel too. We just found out we have some unexpected out-of-town visitors arriving Saturday morning, and we will be entertaining them. Our apologies. Will look forward to being able to connect some other time hopefully!

    Best.

Sorry but I must cancel. The flu bug got a hold of me. Morna, thanks so much for hostessing the event. Hope to make it another time and meet everyone.

Just changed my RSVP to "no"...for Morna's Potluck. It opens 2 spots for anybody on the waiting list. Payed for it too.

I've got Mastic liqueur, an authentic Greek aperitif. It tastes like gum, so is a little strange, but fun to try, anyway. I'll also turn up with appetizer-ish nibbles to go with it, olives, cheese, a bit of bread.

    Hi:
I am very happy to start meeting new friends! Can you please tell me what sort of dish I should prepare? main dish, side dish, dessert, drinks?
Thank you for your prompt reply!

Hi Rachel, this potluck hasn't quite gone as planned with the confusion related to the addition of the second location, etc so PLS bring whatever Greek dish inspires you. I'm making dolmas...forgot to say that earlier. We're all a flexible group, as you'll see. See you soon, Morna

    Sorry for the confusion.

When this "monthly potluck" was 1st announced, no host had yet been determined. Once a host (Morna) volunteered, we saw that we had more rsvp's than her home could accommodate. I set up this new page (deleting the first) and placed everyone on a waiting list until we could determine the smaller guest list for Morna's event. There is also an interest in creating a more equal boy-girl ratio, so we will be populating the guest list manually in the next day or so. Good news is that we have a 2nd person willing to host another greek food potluck the same night. Still working out details, but it would accommodate most if not all of those on the now expanded waitlist.

Those of you who had originally rsvp'd and paid for the potluck will be pretty assured of getting on 1 of the 2 guest lists. This'll take a few days to sort out. Let me know if instead you'd rather take your name off the list and receive a refund. 1 person has already taken ths option.
