Hello, Downton Abbey Fans!! Let's celebrate the new Season 3 opener with a buffet-style potluck with champagne, wine or cocktails, appetizers, soup, side dishes, Grand Marnier Souffle (my contribution) for 6 people. Please wear your long dangling necklaces (pearls, preferred), little evening hats, long gloves (if you have them) and an outfit to match. Let's skip the heels as parking is about 1.5 blocks away and below my apt which means walking uphill, tenuously balancing your dish. I still have some of my grandmother's silver plated serving dishes---pls bring yours if you happen to have some too. My place is small and my kitchen, even smaller, so I can cook/reheat some things but can't handle a big production. I'm looking forward to meeting you and sharing this wonderful series. PLEASE indicate what category of dish you'd like to bring when you RSVP. Also know that hats and gloves are truly optional, don't go out and buy anything! This is meant to be a fun dress up event. There is a charming 2 hour series interviews/review (Downton Abbey Revisted) now being broadcast intermittently on Ch 9, so set your DVR's to "record". It's a nice reminder for long time fans but won't give you much insight if you're unfamiliar with the program. Unfortunately, this review is also part of Ch 9's pledge drive--you have been warned. I've already watched it and enjoyed seeing the costumes and sets which we can only dream about. NOTE: The real Season opener is 9pm on Sunday, January 6, (too late for us working girls) but a friend gave me CD's of the UK Version which aired in Sept. I know there will be all-day Season 1 and 2 broadcasts on Sunday, possibly Saturday....not sure. There must be more Season 1 and 2 broadcasts as well. I know I will have forgotten some detail so forgive me, in advance. I'm still figuring out the reservation system. Thank You!
