There are several book clubs out there but they either seem to be disbanding, specialized or for women only so I decided to start this one. I am the former organizer of a large book club in Nashville which, I'm proud to say, is still going strong and I hope to bring that same success to this one. I had the opportunity to read a lot of great books I may not have picked up on my own and I hope to be introduced to even more!

This is a co-ed bookclub that will meet once a month, at local coffee shops and cafes in the area, and discuss one book per month. While the meetups will happen primarily in the Edgewater/Andersonbille/Rogers Park area, it isn't limited to people who live in those areas; all are welcome! 

Books will be selected through a nomination and voting process (via the polling system on Meetup) and provided three months at a time so folks (especially those who like to use the library) have a chance to find and read the books.

Other events that don't require reading a book (but do have a literary theme) will also be set up such as checking out the movie versions of books we've read, live productions, etc.
