Marathon paddle on the Neuse!

Paddle the section of the Neuse River from Smithfield Town Commons to Richardson Bridge Road. 27.5 mile tract so it is a little over a marathon. This section is all flat water and is suitable for beginner as well as experienced paddlers. We will stop every couple hours to stretch & potty. Be sure to bring plenty of water, snacks, & lunch.

THIS PADDLE WILL TAKE APPROX. 10 HOURS....know your physical abilities and your own mental toughness. This is open to everyone but only you can determine if you are up to the challenge.

We will meet at 6:00am at the parking lot of Covenant Love Church on Dunn Rd Fayetteville (Empty parking lot on Saturdays) for all wishing to carpool. Carpool etiquette will apply (split the fuel cost with everyone in the car). Anyone not wanting to carpool can meet at Smithfield Town Commons Park at 7:15. We will unload boats and shuttle automobiles down to the take out at Richardson Bridge and then be on the water by 8:00am.

Don't have a boat and need one my extras will be up for rent for this event for a donation to the American Cancer Society via supporting me in the 2013 Hope Floats Tour. Solos $50 Donation.... Tandem.... $75 Donation. (First Come First Serve)

The pale was fun, exhilarating, and overall an adventure to remember. Just next time, we should let someone know to remove all the trees so we don't have to run into them.

What an incredible day paddling! Logigators, The Biggest Turtle I have ever seen, a Beaver damn, and most importantly the Bald Eagle. WOW! What a day. I can't wait for the next adventure with Laura C., Daniel, & Laura M.

So just out of curiosity, since your doing a fundraiser this weekend and next, will this event still be going on?

It depends on how far away this place is, and whether or not there will be anyone to carpool with, and you reply on why using your boats costs so much.

I am not in the kayak rental business I just happen to own a few and am using them to raise money for what I feel is a good cause, the American Cancer Society. Recently I had to watch my wife and her sister care for their father as he died from Leukemia. I hope the efforts that myself and many others make raising money for this cause will one day lead to a cure and prevent you or someone you know from having to go through it. 100% of the money myself and Laura raise goes to the American Cancer Society.

Cape Fear River Adventures & Neuse Adventures each rent kayaks for $45 a day. You have to go to them to pick up and return the kayak when you are done.
