Gaurav “GP” Palis Director, Strategic Programs for Smartronix responsible for delivering cloud-solutions for Federal and Commercial clients including DOD, Federal Agencies, State and Local. GP has been involved in multiple cloud migration and big data projects including the deployment of an hybrid big data solution using SAP HANA and traditional RDBMS Systems for near-real time processing of large data analytics/matching workloads in the Federal Accountability and Oversight space.

Overview of Content
Given the emergence of Big Data and In-Memory Databases, organizations are looking to accelerate the processing of large amounts of data to drive near real-time decision making. We will share a case study of a large analytics system implementation that required the ability to match incoming payloads in excess of 100 million records to a database with potentially over 300 million rows in near real-time. We will share the high-level requirements, constraints and chosen architecture path as well as lessons learnt.

Sap Real Time Data Platform – Joseph Shaffner

Joseph W. Shaffneris the North American Technical Sales Director forSybase, Inc., an SAPCompany.  Joe has been in technical sales with Sybase for more than 16 years. He is actively engaged with the Fortune 500 specializing in Data Warehousing development and design.  Prior to joining Sybase, Joseph was a financial systems consultant with several major firms, including Price Waterhouse.  He received a BS in Business Administration and BS in Economics from the University of Maine and an MBA from George Washington University. He also was chosen to participate in an Executive Leadership Program at Stanford University. Joe resides with his family in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Big Data and the Problem with Quality - Andrew Mathewson

Andrew Mathewson- A technology executive who has completed numerous global SAP ERP implementations with over 28 years under his rather substantial belt. He was the President of a large hospital group and has been the Practice Lead for a number of boutique consulting houses. His area of specialization has been dealing with data. He is well known within the SAP Ecosystem for his contributions with SAP MDM and MDG along with his knowledge of SAP ECC. He is currently with Novius Group building out best of breed solutions for their clients.

Topic summary:Big Data certainly has become the rage for the last couple of years. Technology has enable corporations to embrace and start seeing value of Big Data. The industry still has a shifting working definition of Big Data. What are the implications? How does quality fit into Big Data? Andy will provide some insights and invite a conversation of our communal experience.
