We'll prepare lunch for the patients and/or residences of the Ronald McDonald House in Pasadena. I'll post a signup sheet later this week so each volunteer could sign up to bring an ingredient. We'll cook together 11am-12noon, serve the lunch 12noon-1pm and clean up. NOTE this facility has residences coming in and out often as their children are at various hospitals throughout the city and it's a smaller space than the one in LA. So you may not see a lot of residences but the ones you do see, please encourage their spirits!
We'll make soft tacos with a side of beans and Spanish rice. We'll also provide a side of fruit and salad.
Please sign up!
Soft tacos (flour tortillas and corn tortillas)
Meat for filling (chicken and beef and fish perhaps?)
tomatoes, cabbage, onions, bell peppers
sour cream, shredded cheese, guacamole
Cans of refried beans
Fruit (whatever is in season; we'll cut up there)
Salad --- Molly
This is my first time at this facility in Pasadena. I heard it's small so roughly speaking we'll cook for about 25 residents. Keep in mind they are in and out of the facility so we may or may not see the families. If not, we'll put the tacos in take-out boxes and refrigerate; they could pick up and take back to the hospitals whenever they get a break.
Parking: It's a one-way street. I think you just park on the street.
VOLUNTEERS: YOU ALL INSPIRE ME SO MUCH; THANKS FOR YOUR HEARTS AND HANDS!
