From a Sea of Parking to a Walkable Northgate Neighborhood

Come find out how Northgate is getting a walking facelift
Saturday, May 10 from 1:30pm-3:30pm
Start and end at Watershed Pub & Kitchen

Will the pedestrian/bike bridge get built over I-5 ? Where's the cycle track going?

Learn about this and other cool things happening in the Northgate neighborhood. Feet First Board Member Jim Davis, Feet First Executive Director, Lisa Quinn will be joined by Neighborhood Walking Ambassador, Karen Meadows to provide you an insider look of the area including, the Dahlia Man, daylighting of Thornton Creek, the hidden P-Patch, as well as an update on the pedestrian/bicycle bridge over I-5.

This area is well positioned to transform itself into a walkable and livable place for people who live, work, attend school, and play in this area. Come find out how this will happen and how the new Northgate Link light rail station plays an important role.

After the walk, join us for a conversation over drinks (Happy Hour Prices All Weekend!) and food at the Watershed Pub & Kitchen. As a part of the Watershed's weekend Grand Opening, a portion of the proceeds from the day will benefit Feet First.

Thanks all you for coming. I wanted to share an update on the Northgate Link light rail. I wanted to clarify, the segment opens 2021 not 2020. As I mentioned Feet First is actively involved to ensure that all stations have Sound Access for All: http://www.feetfirst.org/sound-access-campaign

More here: Northgate Link Extension is a key part of the regional mass transit system approved by voters in 2008. The 4.3-mile light rail extension includes stations in the University District, Roosevelt, and Northgate neighborhoods. Trains will run in underground tunnels from downtown Seattle to a site along Interstate 5 south of the Northgate Station near Northeast 94th Street. Trains will come out of the tunnels to serve the elevated Northgate Station.

Northgate Link Extension is projected to add over 60,000 daily riders to the Link system, bringing total daily ridership to 176,000 in 2030. Construction of the extension began in fall 2012 with service starting in 2021.

    Thanks, again!

Where will you be walking first? I'm coming from another event, so might be running a bit late, but would love to join you! I live nearby.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
