Feldenkrais Classes in London with Rainer Knupp 5.00 5.008

For people who do sports, for actors, dancers, marshal artists, photographers, filmmakers etc...
…For computer users and people who work at home or in the garden.
…For everyone who enjoys movement and want to improve performance and well-being.

The Feldenkrais Method has helped me as a dancer to understand how less effort helps me eventually to be much more efficient in my technique and performance. Using too much muscle effort hinders to move freely through space which any movement needs. In the method I have learnt how to trust my skeletal support and the relationship towards gravity. Movement is so interesting and fascinating as it is something we always perform in any action. With every movement we change our relationship to gravity, to the environment and of the different parts in the body. In life we usually haven’t got the time to sense and feel exactly how we act, we have to be ready and quick.
The Feldenkrais Method gives you a chance to explore and develop these relationships slowly and gently so our brain has the possibility to make new connections and be revitalised.
.
What people usually feel after a class is more grounded, freer in the joints, more length, more on two feet, happier, lighter, the movements are much smoother; the changes are often experienced as very big.

The Feldenkrais Method is regarded as one of the most sophisticated systems of movement education developed in the 20th century. Developed by engineer and martial artist Moshe Feldenkrais, the Feldenkrais Method is practiced world wide in applications from rehabilitation and injury prevention to refining skills in athletics and the arts. In innovative, precise ways, Feldenkrais taps the innate intelligence of the human nervous system to create higher levels of movement and function.

Please wear comfortable clothes in which you can move freely.

The benefits of this week's class will be easier reaching of arms and use of shoulders. Often when we get something out of a high shelf something seems to be difficult in our body. We can feel a bit stuck in the shoulders or somewhere in the back if feels difficult. We can't quite analyse why that is and the possibility to maybe change that seems impossible to reach. Read more

What members are saying

Explore movement and enjoy your own movements. Get revitalised. Learn something new. Improve your posture.

Feldenkrais method isn't about rushing into a gym and thrashing it out with 100 other people, neither is it something that someone else does to you. ...

“I've heard of Feldenkrais but never really knew what it was... I'm a Shiatsu therapist and therefore invested in my own and my clients freedom and well-being, so I'd love to learn more about what sounds to be a very powerful technique.”
