Hike Oak Hill in Littleton

Oak Hill is a place to stretch your legs and mind as you walk its trails!  Climb Lookout Rock - the highest point in Littleton at 508'.  Explore Tophet Chasm, a temporary outlet carved out of rock for an extensive glacial lake about 15,000 years ago. Two stage coach lines crossed Oak Hill in the 1880s. They are now part of the hiking trails. You can note the grooves in boulders and ledges worn by the iron-bound wheels of the heavy coaches.

Distance: About 3 miles
Gain: About 300'
Tortoise time: About 2 hours.
Great hike for kids!

SPECIAL OFFER ON TORTOISE CAPS!  CLICK HERE!

Trail map HERE! We will hike the perimeter loop!

More info about Oak Hill HERE!

The trailhead is located on Oak Hill Rd in Littleton, near Littleton Depot, ½ mile from the junctions of Route 2 and 495.

Please wear sturdy shoes or boots and wool socks.  Some of the land may be wet, so waterproof shoes are best. Bring a jacket and hat, bug spray, a snack and water.   Days are getting shorter, so please carry a flashlight or head lamp. Hike will go on in drizzle or fog - steady rain will cancel.

Great group and Excellent location (thanks, Julie). A good hike through an interesting place with a bit of civilization as a contrast near the end.

Hi. I changed to a "no". Had wanted to take my grieving pup. (He lost his mate two weeks back)' but since I didn't hear back if that was o.k., we will catch up with you all on another trek where he n will be allowed.
What a beautiful day for outdoors and fresh air. Enjoy!

Is it o.k. To take a small doggie....9 pounds and enjoys walking? Need to know before I fully commit.

Hi, Would this hike be suitable for a leashed dog? I have an energetic (though very quiet) little gal who could use a nice 3-mile trek, as could her guardian! ;-)
