"Journey of 2,000 Miles" film and ATC membership drive

Hey folks,

I just bought my ticket for this because it seems like a great deal based on the event itself plus a year's membership all for under $30.  Also:

Top 10 Reasons to Attend:

Watch the film: Appalachian Impressions on the big screen!

Hear amazing stories of the men and women who volunteer on the      Trail

     Interact with a 2,000 Miler

1 Year Membership or Gift Membership to the ATC (a $40 value)

Free Admission for kids (13 and under)

Win cool prizes such as an ATC ENO Hammock

1 year subscription to A.T. Journeys, the official magazine of the        Appalachian Trail

Receive an ATC decal and patch

Make new friends in the Outdoor and Hiking Community

Protect an Irreplaceable Treasure: the Appalachian Trail!

I've been a fairly active member of the AMC but never really knew about the ATC, and they seem to do some great work that makes the Appalachian Trail better for all of us. I'll copy and paste Ed's email below...

"Hi all,

The email below originated from the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and is being passed on to all the members. Do not consider this to be an advertisement or an endorsement; it is only an FYI.

Ed C.

My name is Karen and I work for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. On October 2 in New Haven and October 3 in Boston, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy is hosting a charity event - we are showcasing the film Appalachian Impressions in theaters as well as providing information about the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and how to give back to the Trail. There will be guest speakers, including James Haskell, an A.T. section hiker. All funds raised will go to support and maintain the Appalachian Trail. Being that your group goes out for hiking events, I was hoping that you could invite your members to come out to this film showing. To register, or to find out more information about this event, visit www.appalachiantrail.org/journey. Also, feel free to share with the group PROMO CODE: MEETUP13 to receive $5 off admission.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at [masked].

The film was fabulous. I met a 2,000 miler from 1999 who answered a lot of questions. The ATC folks were friendly, were full of good information, and obviously love what they do.

Anyone interested in carpooling or taking the t together to the location in Boston. I don't know the city too well. Also, is anyone interested in hiking the Wapack Trail in sections? It's a great time of year to hike it.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
