19 Smith Rd, Northborough, MA
I will be back from Zambia and eager for some cold weather! This is a really nice short hike for a late afternoon. One of my favorite local hikes.
Hike through a hardwood forest on former farmland. Climb to the highest point in Northborough! Two scenic vistas to the east and Boston skyscrapers visible on a clear day. We'll make a loop up to the North vista, walk along the ridge to the South viewpoint and then back down!
Total distance: About 2.5 miles
Tortoise time: About 2 hours
Some climbing and hilly sections - nothing too steep.

Great hike for kids! Well-behaved dogs allowed, too.

Hike goes on in snow; rain or sleet cancels! Please read the winter hiking gear recommendations HERE! Suggest micro-spikes or snow-shoes if needed. Hiking poles are always good. Headlamp or flashlight REQUIRED...the sun sets early and hiking in the dark is NO FUN! Bring at least a liter of water and HEAT the water! This is a cold weather hike - no cotton and dress in layers. Wear sturdy shoes or boots and wool socks.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
