Sorry, this Meetup is FULL.
This adventure will separate the women from the girls and the men from the boys. We travel on Thursday, December 3, 2009, from Atlanta to the Folkston, Georgia. On Friday, December 4, 2009, we will enter the Okefenokee Swamp in canoes and spend the next three days in the swamp with the wild life, including alligators galore. FOR has enjoyed this trip twice before and only two people were eaten alive. If we survive the swamp, we return to Atlanta on Sunday, December 6, 2009. Space is extremely limited. Call Martin at 678-641-9321 for more information.
- This Meetup is closed to new RSVPs.

FOR member Steve Whiteman's free course in the appreciation of classic film will be back for its fourth year in 2010. The group will meet twice a month, on the evening of the first and second Saturdays. Both nights are nearly full but there are still a few seats available, so APPLY NOW! The movies will be recognized classics, the majority from Hollywood's Golden Age - the 1930s and 40s - and the rest from other eras or other countries. Programs will include a cartoon and/or short subject; coming attractions; the feature film; and clips and commentary on personnel, techniques, and relevant popular culture, with discussion interspersed. Books and films will be prizes in the regular trivia contests. For the rest of 2009 a few seats will probably be available to see individual films. To check on the availability of drop-in seats, to apply for 2010, or to be put on the mailing list, email Steve at classic.film@yahoo.c om.
