First meet-up and intros (and short war stories on recent capital raising)

After months of pondering, casual meets and shared stories over chardonnay its time to meet new Female Founders.  Loosely based on the Founder Friday initiative by Women 2.0, we hope this get together is fun, inspiring and real.  An open but supportive group where gals who find themselves running tech start ups (and who maybe aren't as techy as they might like) can inspire each other onwards and upwards.

We're also hoping that girls who work in other people's start ups, or who're pondering launching their own, will come along and find mentors and friends and make the move to founder.

Full details to come around the presentations to kick us off-but for now here's what's planned:

Siobhan Bulfin and Marie-Claire Andrews share stories on recent experiences they've had capital raising.  War stories, traps for unwary players, top tips and insights from doing it here and offshore.

These are not formal presentations, just some ideas from recent experiences that will be shared without editing :)

....and then chatting and quaffing and chatting leading into Friday night who-knows-what.

Of course we're all keen to use this session to find out what you want to hear about next too...

Just wanted to check back in about those ruby requests - as Samson (who has developed Bucky Box) has finished up the last stage in Bucky Box and is now looking for a next project. I am not a Ruby person - but word on the street is that he is really good (and he is also a great guy) so let me know if anyone is still looking

Hi all - just wanted to say thanks for the meeting I look forward to the next one. Quite a few of you mentioned the need for ruby developer - we currently have a team here at Enspiral who could totally meet your needs. Get in touch with me [masked] and I can put you in touch with the right people

I also hope to see you all up here at Peka Peka for some nourishment before too long...A quick reminder about biomimicry - if you're interested in joining the network and attending our monthly workshops, the best thing at the moment is email me at [masked]. Finally, thank you again to Ruth, Marie-Claire and Karen for initiating this meet-up.
