A really fun experience. The Nickel City Knockouts knocked out the competition. Great to see everyone and enjoyed the Olympic afterwards. Hopefully, I will see you all at game night on the 30th.

So much fun!! The other two teams in the league play each other on February 1st, so maybe we can check them out too. I totally want a pair of roller skates now...

I know steve asked below but is have people been buying tickets for this ahead of time or at the door? At this time I am about 50/50 on being able to attend.

Yep, I am getting my ticket at the door...Lazy is good.

This sounds interesting and fun...unfortunately I was reminded I will be going to a 40th birthday party on this day.

I grabbed the dvd at the library today, so I'm definitely watching it this weekend at my apartment, probably over dinner around 7pm on Saturday. Shoot me an email via Meetup or a text [masked]) if anyone would like to join me and my hubby and I'll give you my address. I'd be happy to make extra dinner :) No worries either way, just figured I might as well share. Otherwise, see you all at the bout!

Throwing this out there for Whip it....the Seaway Trail Center would be large enough to seat 12 or so. I have a friend w/a projector and a white sheet. Anyone have the dvd? Anyone interested? We could maybe watch the movie on Friday?

I can snag the dvd (or blu-ray) from the library! I hadn't heard of the Seaway Trail Center, so I checked out their website and it seems like they're closed for the season though...

Ummm is this a tickets at the door thing or do we buy in advance?

Looking on the website, there's 648 general seating tickets left, lol, so should be fine at the door, but I'm going to get mine ahead if time just for ease. If you want front row though, better grab them! Only 9 left ;-)

This looks like such a blast, and yep, I do believe a viewing of Whip It is in order...Anyone have any ideas where we could view this together before the big derby. I would offer my house, but it is really too small to entertain a group of people.

Basically, too much to be a viable option.

My apartment would work, except for seating. But if people wanted to bring fold-up chairs (like those ones you bring camping, etc) that could work.

I think the $10 price is for children, hehe. I've always wanted to check out a Roller Derby game! Perhaps in preparation we should get together and watch Whip It! ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQGPdXnb2Gg

Just me, not a Charlie friendly event, although I'm sure he would love it!

    December 18, 2013

  • Gina

I think we should go for the front row! One of the girls I worked w/plays...errr...skates?

    December 17, 2013

    • Leo

Does this mean you are gonna get us back stage into the locker room? SCORE! :P

      December 17, 2013

  • Steve G

Okay - despite knowing nothing about roller derby I've always been interested in seeing this. And with this game (event? contest? I dunno...) being a food drive to boot now's the perfect time.

So are we going for the $20 front row, $15.00 general, or the $10.00 god knows what you get option?
