Sci-Fi Night 2001 A Space Odyssey

There will be trivia at intermission and a short will be playing afterwards, A Trip to The Moon. It is $7 admission. This is always so much fun and it has been a long time since the last one. So come on people let's have a great turnout.

Thanks to all for helping make the return of Sci-fi Night a success. Now I'm going to go sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and think things over.

Same night as Buffalove! I'll have to choose one, sadly. Such a dilemna.

Hi all, this is Mark. Oh, make no mistake, no blasé for A Trip to the Moon. That will actually start the evening, followed by a few bad (fun) sci-fi trailers from the past, then 2001: A Space Odyssey. They'll be an short intermission half way through 2001 (just as shown originally in theatres). During intermission we'll have trivia based on the first half of the movie.
Oh, I'll have a small table on the side with a few copies of my independent sci-fi book The Chronomonaut. www.scvj.com - if anyone's interested.
It'll be a fun evening. I'm looking forward to A Trip to the Moon on the big screen.
    See you Friday!

I like the rather blasé way you refer to Georges Méliès "A Trip to the Moon". As if he wasn't an important founding father of cinema, for his time. Of course, like all good artists, he died poor, lol.

Wasn't there a movie made about his creation of this movie? I think I've seen that. Kinda like when Kung Fu Panda says "I've only seen paintings of that painting!"

Could be. I can't say. If it helps, here's a quick overview of who Georges Méliès was. http://www.youtube.co...
