Oogie Games Game Night

The night has been booked.

We'll be playing video games at Oogie Games on Saturday, September 6th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  A sheet pizza will be provided.

It will be $7 for anyone who hasn't pre-paid.

Everyone, please let me know what video games you'd like to play for the evening.  We have our choice of all last gen (PS3, 360 and Wii) systems.

Please note that the RSVP limit is at it's maximum.  Ooogie Games only allow 20 people to play for their parties.  If you can't RSVP, please do not come.

If I can't come anymore I will change my rsvp to no as soon as I can.

It depends on my work schedule, which is totally bizarre and unpredictable.

      I am definitely coming!! yay

What happens at Oogie Game Night? I might be interested.

Sure Ryan, its the classic "organizer dilemma". You do all the work, put out the down payment and then get left holding the bag when people don't show. Lol. I love organizing events but that part always stinks.

    • Leo

I'm not sure that quite fits the meaning of 'dilemma' - it's more of a 'occupational hazard' :P

Hey Everyone - When you get to Oogie tomorrow, just head straight to the back, through the store. The game room is in the back.

    Hi, my name is Paul,
I joined the group a couple months ago or so with the intention of introducing myself at your July game night... which I unfortunately missed.
I do love video games though.
So what is the consensus for what we'll play at Oogies? I have a 360 myself, and I'm more of a shooter fan (love Halo).
Also, on an off topic, are there plans for another board game night at Collectors Inn? I haven't seen one scheduled for August. Did that fall through?

    August 17, 2014

    • Paul

Hey Ryan; possible dumb question: how am I getting that $7 to you? I'm only used to using Paypal on E-bay. Who am I sending the money to?

      August 25, 2014

    • Ryan G.

Hey Paul, I'll be collecting the money at Oogie Games. You don't need to send it to me ahead of time.

Hey Everyone - Something new... I called Oogie Games today to give them our selection for games. Turns out they don't have 4 TV's, they have EIGHT! So here is what we have so far:
    - Super Mario Kart
    - Mario Party 8
    - Super Smash Brothers
    - Halo 4
    - Injustice: Gods Among Us

We have three more TV's. What does everyone else want on those TV's?

Isaiah also suggested setting up 2 of the tvs with grand theft auto 5 online.

      August 18, 2014

    • Ryan G.

I'll definitely see if they have LBP2. I think that setting everything up for two online profiles might take a little long, being that we only have 2 hours.

      August 18, 2014

  • Ryan G.

Hey Everyone - Oogie Games only allows 20 people for the particular package we purchased. We currently have 20 RSVPs. That means that no else can RSVP for the event or show up. If you change your mind and can not make the event, please remember to un-RSVP so that people who want to come in can make it in. Thank you.

Oops, forgot to undo RSVP, sorry. Will be thinking of you guys while out camping.

So sad I have to miss this. I have a wedding to go to. Maybe next time.

I picked up sport friends for the Ps3 not too long ago. It's a simple but fun mini game compilation. Great fun for, and easy to pick up.

    July 21, 2014

  • Leo

I'll be out of town that day. But do keep my $10 and maybe they'll be another in the future.

    July 21, 2014

  • Ryan G.

OK. The night has been booked. We are getting a free sheet pizza as part of the deal (half pepperoni, half cheese). Now the next question... what games do we want to play? We will have 4 TV's available to us. No new-gen systems are included, so it's PS3, 360 and Wii available. They need me to let them know ahead of time what games we'll be playing. Please let me know and we'll get rolling with that.

    July 19, 2014

    • Ryan G.

I may ask them if I can bring my PS4. Towerfall Ascension with 4 people would be a blast.

      July 20, 2014

    • Meredith

Definitely mario kart, and maybe one fighting game, super smash bros or street fighter or Soul Caliber?

      July 20, 2014

  • Ryan G.

Here's a question... we can't have more than 20 people at the event. Is there some way to cap the amount of people who can RSVP? Thanks.

    July 19, 2014

    • Timothy S.

Your wish is my command.. I'm like the FNP genie :) Anyway... I used my minor powers to edit the event to have a 20 person limit and a waitlist if the number gets that high.

      Awesome Tim, thanks!

We're all set with deal. Below is a link to a survey so we can pick which date we'll be doing it. Voting is open to people who have paid. Voting will be closed Thursday morning. Please get your vote in by then. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FVGFLGD

Voted. I have to go to Albany for a few days in August (no idea of the dates yet) but I think I can swing any of the listed dates

      July 14, 2014

    • Leo

Aug 28th to the 31st is Fan Expo in Toronto, FYI.

      July 15, 2014

  • Ryan G.

I'm happy to announce that we're at 10 people. I'll be picking up the Amazon local deal tomorrow and I'll post something shortly so we can pick a date that works for everyone/as many people as possible.

    July 13, 2014

Just paypal'd you for myself and Mykal

    July 11, 2014

    • Ryan G.

Awesome. It has been received. Thanks! That makes 8. Just 2 more.

      July 11, 2014

    • Leo

Since you're up to 9, you should go ahead now and you may end up making the last $10 in time anyways.

I like this idea so much, I'm totally copying it and running the exact same offer in Buffalo Queer Women meetup.

    July 11, 2014

  • Ryan G.

I've got money from Leo, Steve and the Joneses. That puts us at 6. We just need 4 more people.

    July 10, 2014

  • Rachel

When would this happen? Because this would be so much fun! I suggest Super smash brothers and Mario party! :)

    July 10, 2014

    • Ryan G.

I don't want to call Oogie and book date until we have enough people, so we'll book a date later. I'll be sure to ask everyone who paid for their input on available days.

      July 10, 2014

  • Leo

    Paypalled!

    July 10, 2014

    • Ryan G.

Thanks Leo. That makes 3 so far.
