Information is power. Fibromyalgia is enigmatic and ambiguous and can be a life-altering disorder. Fight the confusion and uncertainty with information.
My vision for this group is to get people who experience fibromyalgia together to comment and share their thoughts on current research and historical perspectives. The reading list won't be limited to books or research specifically on fibromyalgia. It will also include books on neuroscience, chronic illness, philosophy of self and consciousness, as well as other topics suggested by the group members. (I am naming this group "Fight Club" because this is my euphemism for how I feel each morning - like I have endured a pummeling.)
* meet other people with fibromyalgia
* share your thoughts on current research and historical perspectives
* read and discuss interesting books selected by members
* find camaraderie in shared struggles and successes
We will meet in Arlington, VA.
I am limiting membership to people with fibromyalgia, but members may invite friends or family to join them at the meetings. While we may eventually decide to invite speakers or authors to present to our group, soliciting by service providers will not be tolerated.
