I'm not sure how to define experienced. I feel like I improve every time I finish a novel and go through the editing process, but I know there's always room for improvement. According to the 10,000 hour rule, I'm not quite where I want to be regarding my writing chops, but I think I've read that much in my life and I believe that helps. So, I'm going to keep going till I get where I want to be, which is more experienced. However, I think I'll always be an aspiring writer because I'm not quite sure if one ever arrives at a point of satisfaction. In any case, I've self-published my own work as ebooks. Honestly, I haven't tried to get published traditionally--having worked in the industry I don't have faith that it's the best way to go these days. I tolerate black licorice. Give me a Red Vine any day. No Twizzlers for me. ;)
Almost anything that's well-written, though I have no taste for erotica. No Fifty-Shades of Gray for me. Ha ha ha. I love classic literature, folklore, fantasy, science fiction, the Russians, poetry, chicklit, literary fiction, mysteries, adventure, etc. I was raised on Carl Barks comic books (Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck) and so I love those as well as a few other comic books. I'm also big into fantasy. Right now I'm reading my first ever Agatha Christie book. It's pretty good. But really I just love books.
I've been writing since I was twelve. After working as an editor for several years in Nashville, I decided to self-publish ebooks. I've been writing intensively since. I'm looking for a critique group to help improve my skills and help others.
