Hometown: Salt Lake City

Ever since a short stint as a newspaper reporter 2003-2006, I have had a yen to write more than just short current event pieces. I have sketched out ideas, I have attended seminars, but I need to kick myself in the pants to get it out on paper.
Aspiring. I was a newspaper reporter after the dot-com bubble burst and published lots of short articles, but not the stuff I really want to write. Black licorice is the only candy worth risking my health. The red stuff isn't even licorice.
Nonfiction history and historical fiction; science fiction; fantasy. Catching up on classics that I missed. Books that are about to be made into movies, before I see the movie.
Great! I plan to attend again as life permits.
Welcome Lee! Depending on where you would like to put your system (indoor vs outdoor) and what type of fish you plan on using you may need several things. If you plan on having a indoor Aquaponics system, then depending on the location you may need to buy a grow light for your system but wouldn't really need to worry about a heater. If you plan on having it outdoors and want to grow year round, you wouldn't need a grow light, but you'd need a greenhouse and a water heater. :) I hope this helps.
Hi Lee, you can bring a short piece, or part of something. Anywhere from two to three pages is fine. It is nice for everyone to have a copy if that is possible for you to provide, and the copies are returned to you after your reading and discussion. Suggestions or comments are provided to the author by request.
Hey Lee, welcome to the group! We're a new group but I'm looking forward to meeting you. I'm a big fan of Brandon Sanderson and OSC, myself. I hope you can make it to our kickoff on the 17th in Sandy. :)
