Once again, note the venue change, below...
This month Ronnie Rios, FileMaker's new Systems Engineer ("SE", in FileMaker parlance) is coming to town to meet our group, tell you what he can do for you, and do a presentation on one of the hottest areas in FileMaker 12 development: Execute SQL. Because FileMaker 12 can execute SQL statements on its own tables, you've got ready access to data sets that used to require adding table occurrences on the relationship graph. Now you can create "virtual lists" of data on the fly without any additions to the graph, which can dramatically cut down on the number of relationships in a database, and it can also speed up the creation of certain types of reports. We'll also discuss what's going on in the FileMaker world, followed by food, fellowship and fun in The Pub.
Here's some more about Ronnie:
Ronnie Rios is the Systems Engineer for the Mid-Atlantic region and Canada. In his role he provides technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, customer training, and delivery of professional systems consulting and integration services.
FileMaker System Engineers
FileMaker provides Systems Engineers as a regional resource, talking to anyone or any organization about their FileMaker deployments, solving problems and offering assistance in whatever way we need. Matt O'Dell, our old SE, has moved on to a "special project" at FileMaker, and our new SE wants to meet the group, talk about what you're doing, and let us know what he can do for us.
Neither of our regular venues were available this month, so we're meeting upstairs above a nice little pub in Bloor West Village: The Yellow Griffin, upstairs, with food, fellowship and free-flowing friendliness following the meeting. It's right at the Runnymede subway station, just east of Runnymede on the north side of Bloor. There's parking all around. Don't forget to go upstairs.
