Discover the Truth Behind the Myth - Official Guided Tour of Freemasons' Hall

Ever wanted to learn about the Freemasons? Fascinated by secret societies?

This is the official tour of the world's largest Freemason lodge the United Grand Lodge of England (HQ for the estimated 250,000 Freemasons of England)...

So who exactly are the Freemasons? Are they really a secret society with 250,000 members?

Yes and no, they are a closed group, they do a lot of charitable work and a lot of work to advance the lodge and its' members. Little is known for sure about what this involves but what is incredibly interesting to to look at a list of former and current Freemasons (not all are known for certain)...

• Many US political leaders from ye olde time to now, including George Washington and George Bush Snr

• Prime ministers of the UK inc Churchill members of the Royal Family such as the Prince Philip and the Duke of Kent

• Walt Disney, J Edgar Hoover, Jesse Jackson, Buzz Aldrin, many members of the Rothschild and Rockefeller families.

• One of my grandfathers and several of my uncles.

The tour is run by the Library and museum of Freemasonry. Details are few and far between, but from what I can gather... for only £2.50 you will have the tour of the Grand Temple, the museum and library. You will gain a unique insight in their rituals and organisation.

Price: £2.50 (I will also need your full name to submit to the lodge in advance and on the day you must bring photo-ID such as a driving license, passport or National ID card)

PS As I've already been asked by people who hear I've arranged this... "Are you a mason?" - No and I cannot be as a fundamental requirement is to believe in a "higher power".

Another fantastic meet up organised by Ben. Fascinating right from the start, I had always wondered what the inside of the building was like, happy to say it's just as impressive as the outside if not more so!

Absolutely fascinating! Thanks ben for organising and apologies for not managing to catch you all up at the end for drinks, I got carried away in the museum chatting to a Mason and then a masonic wife :-)
    I recommend this tour highly!

Me too, I'd love to join if there's any last minute cancellations :-)

Sorry but no one can come if there are cancellations as names have been submitted in advance and cannot be amended

It may be worth factoring in to travel arrangements that the 14th is also trooping the colour? A 10:15 meeting time is probably early enough to get a smooth journey but it depends on where people are coming from!

I'm trying but they are fully booked for the foreseeable future. They've even said full for the rest of the year, but I will keep trying.
