Our next meet up, Sunday March 30, isn't for a couple weeks, so that will give everyone a bit of time to plan and get ready for action.
1. Find a seat, introduce new members, share news and any work you wish to show the group.
2.a. Those interested in writing a short script for our next project will convene to share ideas and offer feedback on each other's work.
Our target: a script of five page or less on the theme "Victoria Stories". The idea is to develop scripts that Film Club can work with which tell a tale of 'distinctly island culture'. The story can be fiction or non, set in the past, present or future. Keep in mind we are writing for a Lo/No-budget project. Feasibility of locations, casting, equipment and production design will be a factor in choosing a script to shoot. What better voice to speak with but our own unique experience as west coast island filmmakers.
b. Those interested in the production side of things will continue to study "the scene" through blocking, scene structure, shot choice, cinematography and set communication. A well oiled crew makes for smooth production days and maybe even a chance to have some fun on set!
3. Sign the guestbook, say our goodbyes and return to the world offscreen.
**Please note: there is a limit of 25 members for this meet up. This is the maximum for our current space. If our numbers exceed the max, we will have to consider a second meeting date or a larger space. Sign up soon to avoid missing out!
See you soon,
