Sunday, March 30 is Film Club! Writers-Block party.

Hello Film Clubbers,

Our next meet up, Sunday March 30, isn't for a couple weeks, so that will give everyone a bit of time to plan and get ready for action.

Please excuse the pun in the title, but we will literally 'write' and 'block' at this gathering, hopefully not both together! Here's the general outlook for the meeting:

1.  Find a seat, introduce new members, share news and any work you wish to show the group.

2.a. Those interested in writing a short script for our next project will convene to share ideas and offer feedback on each other's work.

Our target: a script of five page or less on the theme "Victoria Stories". The idea is to develop scripts that Film Club can work with which tell a tale of 'distinctly island culture'. The story can be fiction or non, set in the past, present or future. Keep in mind we are writing for a Lo/No-budget project. Feasibility of locations, casting, equipment and production design will be a factor in choosing a script to shoot. What better voice to speak with but our own unique experience as west coast island filmmakers.

   b. Those interested in the production side of things will continue to study "the scene" through blocking, scene structure, shot choice, cinematography and set communication. A well oiled crew makes for smooth production days and maybe even a chance to have some fun on set!

3. Sign the guestbook, say our goodbyes and return to the world offscreen.

**Please note: there is a limit of 25 members for this meet up. This is the maximum for our current space. If our numbers exceed the max, we will have to consider a second meeting date or a larger space. Sign up soon to avoid missing out!

See you soon,

Brian

I was there! I went to the back door and it was locked so I knocked but no answer. I even double checked at the office at the front to make sure that I had gone to the right door (maybe I was too early?)

I have to apologize that I was a few minutes behind, but I was there to open the door at 2:06.

Very sorry pallas, both Russell and I were a few minutes behind and we missed you. It was the first time this has happened at Film Club, and we hope the last!

Sunny Sundays may not be the best indoor meetup time but those that showed made up for it with quality work.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
