Let's see "Frances Ha" on Saturday, June 8 at 2:45 pm.

The latest effort from the director of "The Squid and the Whale" and "Greenberg," it is the story of an aspiring dancer whose dreams run up against the realities of living in New York. Let's meet in the lobby by 2:35 pm, or join us in the theater if you arrive late. A spirited discussion will follow, probably @ the nearby European Street Cafe. A suggested $2 donation helps to defray the costs of the website.

The film grew on me after I thought more about it, The plot was aimless but then so was Frances' life. It kind of reminds of my life in my 20s when I was still trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. At some point, unless you want to be poor and unhappy all your life, you have to take charge of your life.

A reasonably good turnout. It took me awhile to be pulled into the story but definitely good stuff on facing up to your limitations in the pursuit of your dreams.

Enjoyed the movie and the company, as always. Then ran into something I thought was interesting for the group which highlighted what we saw in the movie: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/09/realestate/all-over-but-the-lease.html
